Compliance Consultant

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is preparing for a three-month compliance sprint within a business department that sits close to operations and customer-facing decisions. Regulatory expectations are evolving, internal processes are being tested, and business teams need clear guidance rather than abstract rules. The mission is to bring confidence and pragmatism to a compliance landscape where risk must be understood, documented, and embedded into daily routines. The consultant will join a Brussels-based environment with short decision lines, visible stakeholders, and a strong need to turn regulatory language into usable business practice.

ACTIVITIES

• Assess compliance risks across the department and map existing controls against regulatory and internal requirements.
• Review policies, procedures, and operating practices to identify gaps, ambiguities, and unnecessary friction.
• Advise business stakeholders on compliance obligations and help them translate requirements into practical actions.
• Prepare clear documentation, risk summaries, and action plans for management and control functions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and contribute to awareness material or targeted training sessions.
• Coordinate with legal, risk, audit, and business teams to ensure recommendations are realistic and implementable.
