DevOps Engineer

Join a cloud infrastructure team supporting earth observation platforms that turn satellite data into actionable environmental insight. You will industrialize secure, scalable delivery pipelines for data distribution and on-demand image processing.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in environmental intelligence, is building the digital backbone behind innovative earth observation systems. The team operates platforms that ingest, distribute and process massive volumes of geospatial imagery, enabling researchers and operational teams to answer urgent questions about climate, land use and environmental change. As demand for near-real-time insight grows, the cloud infrastructure must evolve into a secure, resilient and highly automated foundation capable of supporting both research experiments and production-grade services. The DevOps Engineer will step into a multidisciplinary unit where science meets platform engineering, helping to strengthen the cloud team and keep ambitious environmental projects moving from prototype to dependable operation.

ACTIVITIES

  • Design, build and operate cloud infrastructure for data distribution, on-demand image processing and Big Data analytics workloads.
  • Automate provisioning, deployment, monitoring and recovery using infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
  • Collaborate with researchers, data engineers and platform colleagues to translate project needs into reliable operational services.
  • Implement security best practices, access controls and observability across cloud environments.
  • Support operational and research projects through troubleshooting, performance tuning and continuous improvement.
  • Document platforms, runbooks and operational procedures so the team can scale knowledge as well as systems.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • A more automated, secure and observable cloud platform that supports earth observation services at scale.
  • Faster and more reliable delivery of data products and image-processing workflows for scientific and operational users.
  • Reduced operational friction through reusable infrastructure patterns, clear documentation and robust incident response.
  • Stronger security posture aligned with best practices and the demanding requirements of environmental data platforms.

ENVIRONMENT

Cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring and logging, Big Data and geospatial data processing tools, security best practices, Agile and collaborative engineering practices.
