Full Stack Java Angular Developer
A landmark identity and access management modernization programme needs a hands-on Java and Angular expert to reshape critical user journeys. This hybrid mission combines architecture thinking, clean delivery, and quality assurance in a fast-moving agile setting.
CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, is entering a decisive phase in a digital transformation that will redefine how citizens and internal users access essential services. The existing identity and access management interfaces have grown fragile, fragmented, and costly to evolve. A new front-end and back-end split architecture will replace the legacy layer, creating a secure, maintainable, and user-centred platform. The programme is not a simple refresh; it is a strategic reset that touches design, integration, data flows, security, and operational continuity. The team needs a Java and Angular expert who can translate architectural intent into resilient software while keeping the user experience simple and transparent. The role sits at the intersection of engineering craft and product impact, with a hybrid rhythm that combines focused remote work and meaningful on-site collaboration.
ACTIVITIES
- Design and develop robust Java back-end services and clean Angular front-end components for the new identity interfaces.
- Contribute to architecture decisions around the front-back split, API contracts, authentication flows, and integration patterns.
- Implement secure, performant, and accessible user journeys while preserving continuity with existing systems.
- Write automated tests, review code, and enforce quality standards across design, development, deployment, and support.
- Participate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, refine user stories, estimate work, and remove technical blockers.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, testers, and business stakeholders to keep delivery aligned with programme goals.
- Document technical decisions and help spread engineering good practice across the squad.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- Deliver a new generation of identity interfaces that are safer, faster, and easier to maintain than the legacy solution.
- Reduce technical debt and create reusable patterns for future front-end and back-end developments.
- Improve release confidence through strong test coverage, clean deployment practices, and proactive quality assurance.
- Give users a smoother access experience while protecting sensitive data and maintaining service continuity.
- Leave behind clear documentation and a stronger engineering baseline for the client teams.
ENVIRONMENT
- Java, Angular, REST APIs, PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing tools.
- Agile and Scrum delivery, code reviews, pair programming, architecture guilds, and collaborative refinement sessions.
- Hybrid working model with regular on-site presence in Brussels and the option to focus remotely on deep work.
