CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, is undertaking a monumental modernization of a 150,000+ line Adobe ColdFusion application. This legacy system, composed of 20 modules, has been the backbone of operations for years, but its complexity now hinders progress. The organization has chosen a Mendix low-code platform as its future, and the migration will be executed in three carefully orchestrated phases. To succeed, they need a Functional Analyst who can decode the old and envision the new, ensuring no business rule is lost and every user need is met.
ACTIVITIES
You will immerse yourself in the existing ColdFusion application, analyzing processes, data flows, and business rules. Through interviews, workshops, and code analysis, you will extract the true intent behind each module. You will then translate these findings into clear, actionable user stories and functional documentation for the Mendix development team. Leveraging AI and model-driven development, you will help identify migration patterns and automate repetitive analysis. Daily, you will refine the product backlog, clarify requirements, and support testing to ensure the new platform behaves exactly as the business expects. You will be the guardian of functional quality and the bridge between business stakeholders and technical experts.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Your work will produce a comprehensive functional blueprint that guides the entire migration. You will eliminate ambiguity, reduce rework, and ensure that the new Mendix application faithfully replicates and improves upon the legacy system. The business will gain a modern, intuitive platform that boosts productivity. Your user stories will become the reference for development, testing, and training. ENVIRONMENT
You will operate in an Agile/Scrum setting, using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Miro. The environment includes Adobe ColdFusion, Mendix, AI-assisted code analysis, and model-driven development. You will collaborate with architects, developers, Scrum Masters, and business product owners. Methodologies include BPMN, UML, and user story mapping. A mindset of curiosity, precision, and continuous improvement is essential.
