Functional Data Analyst

Bridge business needs and data architecture within a multi-disciplinary agile team at a major healthcare institution. You will define data models, translate requirements, and ensure GDPR-compliant data products that drive real impact.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, has launched a Data Office to turn raw information into trusted, actionable assets. The team is multi-disciplinary, agile, and on a mission to build data products that serve both internal experts and external stakeholders. The context is complex, regulated, and deeply human: every data model must respect privacy, security, and GDPR while still unlocking insights that improve services. They need a Functional Data Analyst who can speak both business and data fluently.

ACTIVITIES

You will collect and challenge business requirements from subject matter experts, then translate them into functional and technical specifications. You will define conceptual and logical data models, identify business processes and data flows, and lead discussions to validate your designs. You will establish functional designs for data products, ensure GDPR compliance is baked in from the start, and participate in testing to confirm that the products meet expectations. You will work side by side with data engineers, architects, product owners, and legal experts in an agile rhythm.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Your work will result in clear, validated data models that align business strategy with technical implementation. You will help deliver data products that are accurate, compliant, and easy to consume. By bridging gaps between stakeholders, you will reduce rework, accelerate delivery, and increase trust in data. The client expects a functional design framework that can be reused across future data initiatives.

ENVIRONMENT

You will join an agile team using Scrum or Kanban, with access to data modeling tools, SQL, data catalogues, and GDPR guidelines. The environment emphasizes collaboration, continuous feedback, and iterative delivery. You will interact with data engineers, analysts, privacy officers, and business experts in a culture that values curiosity, rigor, and transparency.
