CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is in the middle of a data-integration estate that cannot afford to stand still. Critical business flows depend on a web of interfaces, files, messages, and services that must remain stable while the organisation modernises its platforms. The team needs an integration architect to step into a three-month hybrid mission in Brussels, map the current landscape, challenge fragile patterns, and design a pragmatic path toward more resilient, observable, and governed data exchanges. This is less about simply keeping the lights on and more about giving the integration layer a clear architecture story for the years ahead.

ACTIVITIES

  • Design, document, and evolve integration architectures around BizTalk Server, SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure DevOps.
  • Review existing flows, identify bottlenecks and risks, and propose modernisation patterns that reduce coupling and operational fragility.
  • Produce architecture documentation, standards, and decision records that make technical governance concrete rather than theoretical.
  • Work with delivery teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust interfaces using XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, and Windows Server-based components.
  • Optimize monitoring, error handling, and operational support practices for business-critical integration flows.
  • Advise on modernisation strategy and ensure that new solutions fit the target architecture and security expectations.
