Network Engineer
Own the secure, reliable operation of a network spanning both IT and OT environments across multiple European sites. You will keep critical infrastructure connected while modernising operations with cloud, firewall, and automation technologies.
CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, relies on a network that connects people, systems, and operational technology across several European locations. In this environment, connectivity is not a background utility: it is the nervous system of critical operations, where a small configuration error or an unmanaged security gap can have immediate business consequences. The organisation is therefore strengthening its network team with a senior engineer who can combine day-to-day operational excellence with a clear eye for security, automation, and modern infrastructure practice.
ACTIVITIES
- Set up, secure, operate, and maintain network infrastructure across IT and OT environments.
- Deploy and maintain IT systems connected to the network, including switches, routing, firewalls, and cloud connectivity.
- Support colleagues and technical teams with network troubleshooting, changes, and operational requests.
- Work with Cisco technologies, firewall platforms, cloud networking, and automation tools to improve reliability and consistency.
- Contribute to documentation, standards, and operational procedures for a multi-site European landscape.
- Participate in security hardening, incident response, and continuous improvement of network operations.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operational technology stakeholders to protect critical services.

You will help reduce operational risk, improve standardisation across sites, and introduce automation where it creates real reliability gains. ENVIRONMENT
The technology landscape includes Cisco routing and switching, firewall platforms, cloud networking, network automation tooling, and IT/OT segmentation practices. You will work in a hybrid model after an initial on-site period, within a multi-location European organisation that values documentation, security discipline, and pragmatic operational improvement. The mission is initially planned for one year, with a strong focus on hands-on engineering and cross-team support.
