SAP ABAP Developer
Join a critical SAP evolution program where senior ABAP craftsmanship meets the complexity of the utilities sector. The role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and the chance to shape robust SAP IS-U solutions used by thousands of people every day.
CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, is modernizing and maintaining the SAP backbone that supports essential utility operations in Brussels. The AMMO team is responsible for designing, building, and evolving solutions that must be reliable, compliant, and deeply integrated with business-critical processes. This is not a greenfield playground: the environment includes complex SAP IS-U components, strict governance, and a high expectation of quality because downtime or defects directly affect customers and field operations. The senior SAP ABAP developer will join a team where technical excellence, mentorship, and thoughtful analysis are valued as much as delivery speed. The mission requires a visible on-site presence, with at least three days per week in Brussels, to strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing.
ACTIVITIES
- Analyze functional specifications and translate them into clear, robust technical specifications.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP solutions using Object-Oriented ABAP, following technical standards and governance rules.
- Execute unit tests, support integration testing, resolve defects, and ensure stable production releases.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation so that solutions remain understandable and maintainable over time.
- Design complex solutions, analyze non-functional requirements, and act as a technical reference for the team.
- Assist in defining development frameworks, coding guidelines, and reusable components.
- Evaluate new technologies and SAP capabilities, proposing improvements that fit the roadmap.
- Mentor junior developers, review code, and raise the overall technical bar of the team.

- Deliver high-quality SAP IS-U developments that meet functional needs, performance expectations, and compliance requirements.
