SAP Basis Engineer

Take ownership of distributed SAP operations, S/4HANA and HANA platforms in a business-critical environment. You will secure, coordinate and optimize a modern SAP landscape spanning identity, security and SaaS integrations.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, relies on a complex SAP landscape to run essential business operations. The organization is modernizing its platform with S/4HANA, HANA, BTP and SaaS solutions, and the BASIS function has become a strategic pillar rather than a purely technical support role. The environment must remain available, secure and compliant while evolving toward cloud-ready integration and identity-aware architectures. This position calls for a senior engineer who can combine deep hands-on SAP expertise with the coordination skills needed to align infrastructure, security, application and vendor teams. On-site presence is essential to work closely with stakeholders and respond to the demands of a distributed, high-visibility SAP estate.

ACTIVITIES

  • Operate, monitor and maintain distributed SAP systems, including S/4HANA and HANA.
  • Manage SAP BTP, identity, security and SaaS integration topics.
  • Perform installations, upgrades, patches, system copies, client administration and performance tuning.
  • Coordinate technical changes with infrastructure, security, application and external partner teams.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness and operational stability.
  • Troubleshoot complex SAP incidents and drive root-cause analysis.
  • Define and improve BASIS standards, procedures and documentation.
  • Advise project teams on SAP architecture, security and operational readiness.
