CONTEXT

They are seeking a Senior Power BI & Data Consultant to drive this transformation, bridging the gap between complex datasets and strategic business intelligence, ensuring data quality, and fostering a culture of informed decision-making. ACTIVITIES

• Lead comprehensive requirements analysis sessions with various business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate them into robust BI solutions.
• Design, develop, and implement highly interactive and visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights.
• Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from disparate sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timely availability.
• Perform rigorous data quality analysis and implement data governance best practices to maintain the integrity and reliability of all reported data.
• Provide expert consulting on Power BI capabilities, data modeling, and reporting best practices, guiding business users and fostering self-service analytics.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for data models, reports, and ETL processes, ensuring transparency and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to optimize data infrastructure and ensure seamless data flow into Power BI.
• Stay abreast of the latest Power BI features and Azure data services, recommending and implementing improvements to the BI landscape.

The core technological environment revolves around Microsoft's data ecosystem, primarily Power BI for visualization and reporting, complemented by Azure Data Services for data management and ETL. This includes tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Strong proficiency in SQL is essential for data querying and manipulation. Methodologically, the team embraces agile principles, working in iterative sprints to deliver value rapidly and adapt to evolving business needs. An Azure Data Fundamentals certification is highly valued, reflecting a commitment to best practices within the Microsoft Azure data landscape.
