Senior Procurement Buyer

A senior procurement mission focused on Purchase-to-Invoice transformation and cross-functional category strategy. The role calls for a seasoned buyer who can turn fragmented purchasing processes into a controlled, measurable, and business-friendly flow.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is entering a decisive phase of its procurement transformation. Purchase-to-Invoice is no longer treated as a back-office sequence of approvals and invoices; it is becoming a transversal lever for cost control, supplier performance, and business agility. The organization has launched a program of workstreams, and this mission sits within one of the most visible lots, where senior procurement expertise must connect category strategy, stakeholder expectations, and operational reality. The buyer will join a demanding environment in which legacy practices, local priorities, and central ambitions coexist, and where the ability to simplify complexity is as important as negotiation technique.

ACTIVITIES

  • Lead strategic procurement activities for the Purchase-to-Invoice perimeter, from needs analysis to supplier selection and contract execution.
  • Engage transversal stakeholders across finance, operations, legal, and business units to align sourcing decisions with real priorities.
  • Challenge existing purchasing patterns, build category plans, and identify opportunities for consolidation, savings, and process improvement.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, manage commercial risks, and secure commitments that hold up over time.
  • Monitor performance indicators, contribute to governance routines, and provide clear reporting to program leadership.
  • Act as a senior point of reference for less experienced buyers and help raise the overall maturity of procurement practice.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Deliver a clear, actionable procurement roadmap for the assigned lot, with measurable value beyond pure price reduction.
  • Improve cycle times and control points across the Purchase-to-Invoice journey while preserving business user experience.
  • Secure robust supplier agreements and stronger commercial terms in a complex, cross-functional context.
  • Create lasting governance and stakeholder buy-in so that improvements continue after the mission ends.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Procurement transformation program with transversal workstreams and a strong governance rhythm.
  • Purchase-to-Invoice processes, category management, sourcing, negotiation, and supplier performance frameworks.
  • ERP and procurement systems for requisition, purchasing, invoice, and reporting workflows.
  • Collaboration with finance, legal, operations, and business stakeholders; English may be used alongside local languages.
  • Seniority marker: at least seven years of professional procurement experience, with the autonomy to navigate ambiguity and influence without direct authority.
