Software Developer
This role involves enhancing a C#/.NET course management platform, building new features like progress tracking and communication tools. You will optimize the learning and teaching experience for a broad user base by evolving a critical educational system.
CONTEXT
In an era where digital education is no longer a luxury but a necessity, our client, a major player in its sector, stands at the forefront of innovation, dedicated to fostering dynamic and engaging learning environments. They manage a robust educational ecosystem that supports countless students and educators daily. At the heart of this system lies a critical course management platform, a digital hub that facilitates everything from curriculum delivery to student engagement. As the demands for sophisticated online learning tools intensify, our client is embarking on an ambitious journey to elevate this platform to new heights. This transformation isn't just about adding features; it's about reimagining the very fabric of digital education, making it more intuitive, interactive, and impactful. This project represents a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission that genuinely shapes futures, providing a tangible impact on how knowledge is shared and acquired.
ACTIVITIES
As a core member of a dedicated development team, your daily activities will involve a diverse set of technical and collaborative challenges. You will primarily focus on improving and extending the existing C# course management platform. This includes designing, developing, and implementing new functionalities such as comprehensive student progress tracking systems, advanced course planning modules, and integrated communication tools that foster seamless interaction between students and teachers. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust RESTful APIs to ensure smooth data exchange and integration with other systems. Database optimization and management using PostgreSQL will be a key part of your role, ensuring performance and scalability. You'll participate actively in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and troubleshoot complex technical issues to maintain a high-quality, stable application. This role demands a proactive approach, where you'll collaborate closely with a Project Manager and Business Analyst to translate requirements into elegant, efficient code.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Your contributions will directly lead to a significantly enhanced and more user-friendly course management platform. You will have successfully deployed new functionalities that demonstrably improve the learning experience for students, making progress tracking intuitive and fostering greater engagement. Teachers will benefit from more efficient course planning tools and streamlined communication channels, allowing them to focus more on pedagogy and less on administrative overhead. The platform's overall stability, performance, and scalability will be markedly improved, capable of supporting a growing user base and evolving educational demands. Ultimately, your work will contribute to a more connected and effective digital learning community, reinforcing our client's position as a leader in educational technology and making a real difference in the lives of thousands of users.
ENVIRONMENT
The technical environment is centered around a modern Microsoft stack complemented by powerful open-source solutions. You will be working primarily with C# and the .NET framework for backend development. Data persistence is handled by PostgreSQL, requiring strong SQL skills and an understanding of database design and optimization. The platform relies on RESTful APIs for internal and external communication. Development practices embrace Agile methodologies, likely Scrum or Kanban, fostering iterative development and continuous improvement. Collaboration tools such as Git (for version control), and potentially JIRA or Azure DevOps (for project management and issue tracking), will be integral to your daily workflow. Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript frameworks) would be a plus, but the core focus is on backend development and database interaction.
