Solution Architect
Our client, a major player in its sector, is looking for a Solution Architect to lead the modernization of a critical urban mobility platform. You will define implementable architectures, guide delivery teams, and ensure a smooth transition to production at scale.
CONTEXT
Our client, a major player in its sector, is navigating a critical digital turning point. Its historical information systems, built over decades through a patchwork of legacy applications, have become a brake on innovation and operational excellence. The organization manages thousands of daily interactions across a dense urban landscape, where every second of downtime or every poorly integrated service directly affects citizens, visitors, and local businesses. With growing expectations around real-time data, seamless digital payments, and intelligent mobility, the need for a coherent, scalable, and secure architecture has never been more urgent. The leadership has therefore launched an ambitious modernization program, not as a simple technology refresh, but as a strategic reinvention of how services are designed, delivered, and monitored. The mission is to create a unified platform that can absorb future growth, integrate emerging technologies, and provide a robust foundation for years to come. This is where you come in.
ACTIVITIES
- Define end-to-end solution architectures that are implementable, maintainable, and aligned with the organization's long-term business goals.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear technical blueprints, ensuring coherence across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure layers.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional technical delivery team, fostering a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the technical roadmap for the modernization program, making pragmatic trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term sustainability.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from architectural spikes and proof-of-concepts to production deployment and hypercare.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, and external partners to ensure solutions meet real operational needs.
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and security best practices across the delivery organization.
- Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technical debt evaluations, proposing actionable remediation plans.
- Ensure seamless integration with existing systems while progressively migrating away from obsolete components.
- Support procurement and vendor evaluation by providing technical expertise and validating proposed solutions.
EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
- A successful, on-time, and high-quality deployment of the modernized platform into production, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- A scalable and resilient architecture that reduces technical debt and accelerates the delivery of new digital services.
- Stronger digital capabilities within the internal teams, thanks to knowledge transfer, mentoring, and the adoption of modern engineering practices.
- Improved system performance, security, and observability, leading to higher trust from citizens and stakeholders.
- A clear and documented architecture foundation that can guide future initiatives and reduce dependency on key individuals.
- Measurable improvements in delivery velocity and predictability, achieved through better technical leadership and architectural clarity.
ENVIRONMENT
You will evolve in a stimulating and methodology-driven environment that combines public-sector stability with modern technology practices. The technical landscape includes cloud services (Azure or AWS), microservices, event-driven architectures, RESTful APIs, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes. The stack may include Java, Spring Boot, .NET, and modern JavaScript frameworks, depending on the legacy systems being modernized. Data integration relies on message brokers, ETL pipelines, and API gateways. DevOps practices are central, with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and observability tools. Methodologically, the organization is embracing Agile and SAFe principles, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, iterative delivery, and continuous feedback. You will work alongside passionate engineers, product managers, and domain experts who are committed to making urban mobility smarter, more sustainable, and more human.
