VoIP Project Manager

Lead a fleet-wide communications transformation that replaces legacy radio with a modern VoIP platform. This is a high-visibility mission where technology, operations, and change management meet to keep critical operations moving.

CONTEXT

Our client, a major player in its sector, is modernizing the way its vehicle fleet communicates. The existing radio network has served operations well, but it now limits flexibility, data richness, and integration with digital dispatch and safety systems. The organization has launched a strategic digitalization program to replace radio communication with a VoIP solution across vehicles, depots, control rooms, and mobile teams. This is not merely a technical swap: it touches operational routines, driver behavior, incident response, supplier coordination, and long-term service reliability. The project leader will step into a complex ecosystem where every decision must balance urgency, safety, and continuity of service.

ACTIVITIES

  • Coordinate internal business, technical, and operational teams, ensuring clear ownership and aligned priorities.
  • Manage external suppliers and vendors, tracking deliverables, dependencies, risks, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop detailed implementation plans, including rollouts by fleet segment, depot, or region.
  • Organize technical tests, proof-of-concepts, pilot deployments, and business acceptance activities.
  • Design and support training activities so end users adopt new VoIP tools confidently.
  • Lead change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement across operational teams.
  • Report progress, budgets, risks, and issues to program governance and senior sponsors.
  • Ensure that safety, compliance, and operational continuity requirements are respected at every stage.

EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

  • A successful migration from legacy radio communication to a reliable VoIP solution with minimal service disruption.
  • Clear implementation roadmaps, test protocols, and training materials that can be reused for future digitalization initiatives.
  • Strong supplier performance and transparent governance across all project workstreams.
  • Operational teams that feel supported, informed, and capable of using the new communication tools in daily duties.
  • Measurable improvements in communication resilience, dispatch efficiency, and integration with other digital systems.

ENVIRONMENT

  • VoIP and unified communications technologies.
  • Radio communication and fleet operations context.
  • Project management methodologies, planning tools, risk registers, and governance frameworks.
  • Supplier management and change management practices.
  • Testing, training, and rollout coordination in an operational fleet environment.
